A perspective on effort

I had a conversation with my therapist earlier about the ebbs and flows of project load and stress at work. As one would expect our reactions and dialogue of the topic were par for the course, but when we pivoted to what I perceived of my effort being more in magnitude than others around me he led me to this nugget:

“The universe recognizes your effort.”

The stress never seems worth in the moment especially when you’re infrequently exposed to external – or self – validation. This can be your preemptive patting yourself on the back. Like that “I’m almost there” motivation when you’re nearing the end of a half marathon.

I’m going to sit on that one for a bit.

  1. All humans need to give a pat on their back, I opine… because being a human can really take a toll on the soul.. it’s been said that Earth is one of the toughest planets to incarnate on.
